Meaning of the distorted face Emoji
The distorted face emoji depicts a smiley face with large distorted eyes, facing upwards. Google's design is inspired by its Emoji Kitchen mashup of two flushed face emojis. It conveys feelings of anxiety, bloatedness, panic, shock, surprise, or vulnerability. It was approved as part of Unicode 17.0 in 2025 and added to Emoji 17.0 in 2025.
